Chef Juan José Marí Prado
Dedicated Chef with a life-long professional experience. Born in Valencia, started his career as early as during his teenage years: helping his family in their restaurant business in Requena. Inspired by his family of restaurateurs, Chef Juan Jose spent over four years learning his skills at Valencia and Castellon F&B Schools. Upon finishing his professional education, he travelled to London (PIX Pintxos) and Brussels (Marriott Hotel) to hone his culinary skills. After a few years of learning and travelling he went back to Spain, this time to the sandy beaches of Formentera to work at Hotel Riu, Es Cupina. These were busy years filled with different events and collaborations as well, including ATP Tennis tournaments and other collaborations with Paco Morales (Michelin Star Chef, Noor Restaurant).
Chef Juan Jose then took up an adventure with FOC Alma Mater, Michelin Star Chef Nandu Jubany, working with him at all his establishments and organizing creative culinary events (Jubany Events). Excited about new challenges and opportunities, he went to Hong Kong to open Catalaunya Restaurant, soon to join their pilot restaurant in Singapore. Chef Juan Jose has also gathered experience as an entrepreneur, establishing a catering business and a hotel restaurant, when he went back to Spain for a few years. Right now he took over the kitchen at MAREWA FORMENTERA, creating new dishes and leading a great team.
